Off Topic: AIG mailing
My better half has only made one political contribution, and when he made it, to the re-election campaign of the then-newish governor, a few years ago, someone misspelled our surname in a way we’d not seen before. So any mailing that comes from rental of that mailing list is immediately identifiable. Mostly we get solicitations for a political party whose current platform and recent candidates neither of us are enthusiastic about.
Today’s mail brought a very glossy die-cut mailing from an entity which has previously not reached out to us: AIG’s Private Client Group. The recto shows a sleek silver two-seater, perhaps a Maserati, with the caption “What Does Your Insurance Company Do For You?” The verso’s headline says
“We’re There When You Can’t Be” “A policyholder was en route to the airport for vacation when debris fell from a truck and shattered his windshield. The vehicle could not be driven and, with a flight to catch, our policyholder could not afford to wait around. We assured him that everything would be taken care of. And it was! Later that same day, our claim specialist called our policyholder to update him on the progress we had made. By the time our policyholder returned from vacation, his fully repaired vehicle was waiting in his driveway.” “What Does Your Insurance Company Do For You?”

You mean to tell me they didn’t pick him up at the airport?
Interesting how the party makes money, selling its mailing lists.
I assume this product line is self supporting for AIG.
